The room was decent and the bed was very comfortable. upon check-in, the air conditioner was set to 40 degrees, making it frigid. It took nearly a full day to warm it up to a tolerable 68 degrees. The bathroom was incredibly small, with limited space for toiletries and no proper toilet lid. One elevator was down, leading to long waits. Noise levels were manageable, yet the layout felt cramped. Friendly staff provided excellent service, especially at the restaurant. Parking options were confusing, so be cautious when choosing between valet and garage rates.

It was fabulous, immaculate and with a view.

Overall it was really well appointed and brand-new with 2 double beds.

Francis Marion Hotel boasts a fantastic location in downtown Charleston, with stunning water views from select rooms. The historic charm adds to its appeal, but guests may find the bathrooms surprisingly small and some areas requiring better cleanliness. Despite this, the friendly staff enhances the overall experience.

The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the city with lots to explore just a stroll away. The staff were super friendly and helpful during our stay, making us feel right at home. The room was spacious and clean, with comfy beds for a good night's sleep.

The bathroom was a bit small, which was expected in a historic building. Noise from the streets and neighboring rooms could be disruptive, so light sleepers might need earplugs.

The hotel is perfect with affable employees at the reception desk. The location of the venue was ideal and premier - a 10-15 minute walk from Grace Episcopal Church. Btw, went to city center, located at a medium distance from the hotel.

Such wonderful overall experience. Superb food, outstanding service and lovely view of the park and the Ravenal Bridge. Outstandingly accommodating staff, unique tradition queen room. Great and incredible location to Charleston International airport, just 17 minutes by car. The restaurant was magnificent, for breakfast.

The interior was breathtaking with classic touches like a pianist in the lobby and flavored water. Despite some small bathrooms, the property's charm and elegant updates made it a memorable stay. The location was convenient, allowing me to easily walk to nearby attractions and enjoy the beautiful Calhoun Park view from my room. Overall, a lovely experience with friendly staff and quality amenities.

The bathroom situation was wild—so cramped that I could barely move. Plus, the toilet was a nightmare; it hardly flushed, and the old tub had peeling paint. Definitely not what I expected for the price I paid.

Historic charm meets modern convenience. Our room had a lovely view of the port and spacious enough for two. Beds could have been larger, but I accepted it. The lobby retained its beautiful character, punctuating the experience. The bathrooms, however, were a challenge—small and lacking ventilation. The on-site restaurant served excellent meals; staff were friendly and attentive. While parking was initially confusing, it ultimately worked out. Noise from adjacent rooms was intrusive at times, and the temperature control didn't function as expected. the prime location and great value outweighed these issues. I'd stay again, but acknowledge areas needing improvement.

room we had was spectacularly big, bathroom was spectacularly small, you could hardly get in, tiny! Unbelievable that they make such comfortable rooms with such small bathrooms...

Satisfied with the hotel, it's a great place for staying in Charleston. Lots of goodies for breakfast.

Hotel location is perfect for walking the historic district of Charleston. The hotel has maintained the stately beauty of the glamorous hotels of the 1920’s & 1930’s.

As with many business during this pandemic time, the restaurant and lounge were short staffed.
